What is Batana Oil?
There are other palm oils, red and yellow, that come from African palm trees, but Batana is made from the American oil palm tree.
This wild palm Ojon, which grows in the Mosquitia. In the coastal area of northeastern Honduras; a place of great natural beauty, blessed with abundant wildlife, rushing rivers and lakes; wide bushy mountains.
The Batana It is produced by the indigenous Miskito.
Each tree produces from 10 to 20 very large bunches of fruit each year, from which 2 to 4 liters of raw oil can be extracted. The fruit is boiled and then pounded to remove the orange outer shell. The nuts are washed, sun-dried and cracked using a stone to release the kernel. These are cooked over a fire until the oil is extracted. Finally the hot oil is poured into glass bottles where it cools into a thick paste.

How can i use Batana Oil?
You can use Batana oil as a treatment. Scoop a small amount into the palm of your hand, rub both hands together (the oil will become liquid due to your body heat). Apply oil to your scalp and through your hair. Leave this to penetrate for at least 20 minutes or overnight (for very damaged hair) before washing out.
(Be sure you cover you hair with a silk scarf so the oil doesn't rub off on to your bed sheets)
Batana is great for beard growth and shine
Massage the oil into your beard and let it penetrate for at least 20 minutes before rinsing out.
Batana is also great for skin. softening and soothing whilst helping to fade stretch marks and scars.

What does Batana Oil smell like?
The scent of the oil is sort of an earthy smell. We would say that it resembles the smell of coffee.
